18 members braved the chilly morning temperature and we rode through the hills, made a pit-stop at Dodger Stadium, and ended up at Galco’s Soda Pop Shop in Eagle Rock, home of over 750 independent brands of soda to choose from. Members enjoyed guava, vanilla cream, ginger, strawberry, and other unusually flavored sodas.
35 of our members represented the club in this year’s Hollywood Christmas Parade (89th year). We are featured on the website in the novelties section, along with The Big Idaho Potato Truck and the 501st Legion (SoCal’s Star Wars Cosplay Organization). It was an amazing event and we’re not sure who had more fun - the crowd of over 20,000 people or our crew. Visit the links below to watch us swarm down Hollywood. The parade will air on December 17 on the CW.
We had more than 40 Vespas, rode through two cemeteries, saw a dozen deer, and ended up at Blue Star Donuts.
We enjoyed a scenic ride from Sherman Oaks to DTLA, where we ended up at Smorgasburg, home of over 60 food vendors with plenty of delicious options for everyone in the crew.
Over 40 Vespas swarmed down Topanga Canyon to PCH where we ended up at the Juicy Ladies in the Palisades
Kathleen won the raffle (thank you Kenny “Signor Vespa” Faliero for supplying the prize) then we strapped on our helmets and off we went. About 2 dozen of us drove down to PCH for a few miles before ended up at Primo’s Donuts to grab a few dozen of their delicious donuts.
Our ride to Griffith Park was a complete success - we started with almost 50 riders and picked up another along the way. Lots of first timers today - welcome to the club! Thank you Andrew for making club stickers for everyone - they look great. Another thank you to our newest club member who bought 2 dozen donuts for us. 21 Vespas met up at the Clubhouse, Vespa of Los Angeles in Sherman Oaks, for our 1st ever Taco Ride! After riding through the hills, a park, and the city, we ended up the Plaza Del Valle in Van Nuys and enjoyed some delicious tacos and outdoor dining!
20 Vespas swarmed over the hill from Sherman Oaks down to Los Angeles, where we ate fantastic donuts at Sidecar Donuts, across the street from the Original Farmer’s Market.
We had 17 Vespas on our club’s 2nd ride. We met at the Clubhouse, rode over the hill, went through Hollywood, and made our way to the Japanese Village Plaza for some delicious sweets.
Our first official ride as the L.A. Vespa Club was a success! We met at the Clubhouse, rode along Mulholland Blvd., enjoyed fantastic views of the valley, downtown Los Angeles, and the Hollywood Sign. We took a pleasant social-distanced break at one of the best donut shops around, the Doughnut Hut in Burbank, before returning back to the Vespa Dealer in Sherman Oaks.
Located at 13629 Ventura Blvd., the shop has been awarded the number 1 Vespa dealer in the U.S.A. for each of the last 10 years. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am - 6pm for all your Vespa needs, including parts, accesories, and maintenance.
